God commands us to love—not selectively, but universally. Jesus deepens that command by asking us to love even those who oppose us. This isn’t just a moral suggestion—it’s a radical invitation to live differently.
Jesus didn’t just speak about love—He embodied it. He loved the outcast, the betrayer, the stranger, the enemy, and the oppressor. Jesus' love was radical. It was boundary-breaking. It was divine.
So who is our neighbor?
Our neighbor is not just the person next door. It’s the strangers, the refugees, the rivals, those whose culture, religion, or lifestyle we don’t understand. It’s the person we’re tempted to judge or ignore. Our neighbors are everyone.
What does radical love look like today?
- Respecting others’ choices, cultures, beliefs, and ways of life.
- Refusing to repay hate with hate.
- Listening and knowing the truth before jumping to a conclusion.
- Forgiving and praying for those who hurt us—not to change them, but to soften our own hearts and let God act on our behalf.
This kind of love may be uncomfortable or challenge your instincts, but it’s the kind of love that transforms lives—including yours.
Reflection
Let’s unlearn our defaults.
Let’s be radically human.
And let God alone be God—the only true judge.
We’re not called to judge. We’re called to love. Jesus made it clear: “Do not judge, or you too will be judged.” (Matthew 7:1) When we release the need to control or condemn, we make space for compassion, humility, and healing. Judgment belongs to God alone—because only He sees the full story.
So today, choose love over labels. Choose grace over grudges. Choose to see others not as problems to fix, but as people to love.
