Miracle on 34th Street: Shocking discovery of a Newborn Baby Girl in the heart of Manhattan.

On the morning of October 20, 2025, commuters at New York City’s Penn Station were met with a startling sight: a newborn baby girl, wrapped in a blanket, lying at the bottom of a staircase leading to the southbound 1, 2, and 3 train platforms. Her umbilical cord was still attached. Despite the chaos of rush hour, someone had noticed—and called for help.

Police responded swiftly, and the baby was transported to Bellevue Hospital, where she was found to be alert and in stable condition. The incident quickly captured the city’s attention, and New York City Transit President Demetrius Crichlow gave her a name that resonated with millions: the “Miracle on 34th Street.” At SGTJ Supportive Community, we glorify God by giving her a name of hope and divine purpose: ‘Destiny Child.’”

In response to cases like this, lawmakers have proposed expanding the law to include “Safe Haven Baby Boxes,” secure and climate-controlled containers installed at safe locations. These boxes would allow parents to surrender infants anonymously while ensuring immediate medical attention.
